My first writing samples consisted of little notes my 5 year-old-self would give to family members, in which I would copy down random words on boxes and household items. Since then, I think I've developed a bit more cohesiveness.

Growing up in a family of nine children, it was sometimes difficult to make my voice heard. Now, I can express myself with the written word. Whether its through my novels, poems I jot down on a moment's notice, or the grueling research assignments given in my academic career, I believe writing to be a powerful medium that can move people to action or make them stop and think about their lives and who they are.

More importantly, I write to glorify God. Facing a blank page is a frightening prospect, as many can attest. But my passion has driven me to begin that battle again and again, a circumstance I can only attribute to the Creator blessing me with a love of creativity.

It is my hope that my enthusiasm for life, love, and good stories is evident in my writing, especially in my first book, Of Slaves and Exiles, the first volume of the All the Queen's Men trilogy.

When I am not writing, I am busy working on my day job as a financial analyst, reading every good book I can get my hands on, and keeping track of my big family.
